Dr. Lily (Lidong) Chen is a mathematician and NIST Fellow, recognized for her profound influence on cryptography research and standardization over three decades. Before her esteemed selection as a Fellow in 2023, she dedicated over ten years to leading the Cryptographic Technology Group within the Computer Security Division. Dr. Chen is widely acknowledged as an architect and pioneer of NIST’s critical post-quantum cryptography efforts. Her innovative work further includes spearheading NIST’s proactive strategy for achieving crypto-agility, ensuring systems can rapidly adapt cryptographic algorithms in response to emerging security threats. Dr. Chen has actively contributed to cryptographic and security standards development by IEEE-SA, ISO, and other standards organizations.
